In the real world, I was making the M9 work for me in terms of low light shooting, as such, I have literally never found a single issue with high ISO noise from the M262. I just dont shoot it at that high ISO for it to be a problem, and often wonder what on earth people are doing with their cameras to need the sorts of high ISOs that get spoken about it reviews. The more focus points the more flexibility in picking which part of the scene to focus on. High quality battery charger is a handy companion for digital shooting. They arent rangefinder coupled past 1m, but nonetheless they do focus that close. A phase-detection autofocus system is faster than a contrast detection autofocus system. The colour differences between the two are due to slightly different colour handling in the camera and can be cancelled out completely by the camera profiles in LR. I just recently bought a Leica M262, interestingly I read your blog and it actually helped encourage me to buy it. But even then, its not close to other modern cameras. Agreed that the 262 is like some forgotten model.Also agreed on the fact that once the camera is set-up, theres no need for the buttons and menus. I have gotten perfectly good images with the M-240 at ISO 2000 and at 3200 the images are still manageable with a small amount of noise reduction in LR. The better a device's color depth the more color nuances it can distinguish. I love the files the camera produces, the size and weight is just right and operationally it couldnt be much simpler. Image quality will be essentially the same. Because I only shoot raw, I dont need the white balance settings. I just bought a M262.Its my 3rd Leica M (after a M6 and a M240) and each time I come back to a M, its a delight.
